Latimer Road
A blast of green life and colour in front of Latimer Road Station.
This small container garden was designed for the Chelsea Flower Show by Amelia Bouquet and Emilie Bausager and went on to win silver gilt. Working with the community group Brownbaby and other volunteers, we moved it from the grounds of the Royal Chelsea Hospital just up the road to its new home in the community of Notting Dale in North Kensington.
The garden consists of 10 custom-built steel and pebbledash planters, with clever rainwater harvesting features. The plants were chosen for drought tolerance, pollution absorbance and year round beauty. The stunning tree in the centre is a cotinus coggygria ‘smoke bush.’ Let us know if you’d like to find out more about the garden or plant design.
Going forward, the garden will be maintained by residents with the support of Energy Garden.
