We find the rooftops
Energy Garden staff carry out the technical aspects of developing a solar project, including the due diligence, feasibility studies, business case and partnership development. With the rooftop ready, all that’s left is to raise the money as a community to pay for the solar panels.
You invest
Invest from £50 in a community share offer. We issue 1-2 of these each year, and may have one open at the moment. Your investment automatically enrols you as a member of the Community Benefit Society, a one-member-one-vote structure that decides how the profits are spent. We are currently accepting pledges to invest in our next offer, opening May 2024.
Our partners install the panels
Our partners Carbon3 carry out the installation of the panels and all other technical aspects of the install, including connection to the grid.
We sell the energy
Building owners, corporates and individuals can purchase 100% renewable community-owned energy directly from our Community Benefit Society. Read about our pioneering Corporate Power Purchase Agreement here.
We oversee the projects
We manage the projects across their 20-25 year lifespans, managing the returns on investment while also using the excess revenues to fund our gardens, community engagement and education programmes.
You vote to improve the company
Each year, we have an Annual General Meeting, where members meet, discuss Energy Garden and share ideas for improvement. All members are eligible for election to the Board of Directors.
