Our newest community-owned solar project went live in April 2024

2023 was a very significant year for Energy Garden, as we were delighted to complete the installation of our second community-owned solar project, a 400 kWp solar array at GTR Bedford. This project triples our generating capacity and will drive the continued increase in energy revenues in 2024 and beyond.

This was the first of three new solar projects to be delivered under a 2.5 MWp partnership agreement with Govia Thames Railway that will see a 10-fold increase in our generating capacity by 2024/2025.

Energy:

The system will generate over 6.4 GWh of electricity over 20 years, an average of 322 MWh per annum.

This will avoid 1,335 tonnes CO2e, an average of 67 tCO2e avoided per annum.

 Lifetime energy generated equivalent to over:

• 1,534 UK homes powered for one year

• 793 cars taken off the road for one year

• 6,673 trees planted

Annual energy generated equivalent to over:

• 77 UK homes powered for one year

• 40 cars taken off the road for one year

• 334 trees planted
